Jointly developing learning
We believe that learning only becomes truly powerful when it connects to pupils' lifeworlds. That is why we are fully committed to Minecraft Education: a creative and motivating learning environment in which students develop 21st-century skills through play.
Minecraft Education is the educational version of the popular game Minecraft. It provides teachers and pupils with a safe, digital learning environment that focuses on collaboration, problem-solving and creativity. From maths to language, science to citizenship. The possibilities are endless. You can use ready-made worlds with lesson plans and extra materials, let students build in an empty world or even build your own educational world.
Quick start Minecraft Education
Your licence
To use Minecraft Education, you need a valid Microsoft 365 Education licence. Schools with a paid A3 or A5 licence have automatic access to Minecraft Education for their pupils and teachers. Those working with a free A1 licence can try out the platform: teachers can log in 25 times, pupils 10 times. After that, an upgrade to a paid licence is required.
The app
The Minecraft Education app is available for free for Windows, macOS, iPad and Chromebook. You install the app easily via the official website or via the Microsoft Store (for Windows). On school devices, the ICT service can deploy the app centrally via Microsoft Intune. After installation, log in with a Microsoft 365 Education account or try the demo class.
Start!
The best way to learn about the platform is to play and experiment with it yourself. We also offer hands-on training for teachers who want to use Minecraft in their classrooms.
In addition, you can take free online modules through Microsoft Learn to deepen your knowledge and explore the worlds.
